What will you be learning in this internship?


Day 1: Introduction to Accounting (AM) and Client Services (PM)

In the morning session, interns will be introduced to various departments within an accounting firm, including both accounting and non-accounting departments. They will explore how these departments function and contribute to financial management and reporting. The afternoon session will focus on client services, emphasizing the importance of financial consultations, understanding client needs, and tailoring accounting solutions.


Day 2: Tax Accounting (AM) and Management Accounting (PM)

The morning session will cover tax accounting, where interns will learn about different tax types, tax planning strategies, and compliance with tax regulations. They will explore tax return preparation and the importance of accurate financial records. In the afternoon session, the focus will shift to management accounting, introducing interns to budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management. They will learn how management accountants assist businesses in making strategic decisions through financial analysis.


Day 3: Auditing (AM) and Financial Planning & Analysis (PM)

On the third day, the morning session will introduce interns to auditing, covering key processes such as risk assessment, financial accuracy, and compliance. Interns will learn about different types of audits, including internal, external, and forensic audits. The afternoon session will focus on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), where interns will explore forecasting techniques, budgeting, and financial modeling to support business growth and decision-making.


Day 4: Advisory Accounting Services (AM) and Cost Accounting (PM)

The morning session will provide an overview of advisory accounting services, focusing on how accountants provide strategic guidance to businesses. Interns will learn about business consulting, financial risk analysis, and improving company profitability through expert advice. The afternoon session will cover cost accounting, teaching interns how to analyse and manage production and operational costs to improve financial performance. They will explore cost control strategies and pricing models.


Day 5: Reflection (AM) and Final Assessment (PM)

On the final day, interns will reflect on their learning experiences. In the morning session, they will choose one department that resonates with them, conduct further research, and write a 300-word reflection explaining why this department is important in accounting. The afternoon session will conclude with a final assessment quiz consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions covering all the topics studied during the internship. Interns must achieve a pass mark of 80%, and they will have unlimited retake opportunities if necessary.


Certification

This internship meets international standards to reflect the diverse landscape of accounting as a global discipline. Upon successful completion, interns will receive a certificate of participation as proof of their internship.
